Practice Range Information
Be sure to visit our practice facility at Pinecrest whether you are planning to play or just looking to practice.  If you are playing allow 30 minutes to warm up so that you are ready to tackle the challenge of Pinecrest.

While at the range, start slow, hit wedge shots and then work you way through the clubs in your bag.  Players are entitled to hit off the 25,000 square foot grass tee or off the matted areas located next to the ball machine.  Finish your range session by playing the first couple of holes in your mind.  Getting your mind ready is critical in playing good golf.  A token for a basket of approximately 50-55 golf balls can be purchased for $7 or a warm up basket consisting of approximately 20 range balls can be purchased for $3..

Before heading to the course for play or leaving for the day be sure to spend sometime on the putting green.  Make sure that you hole each putt and try different lengths of putts to become familiar with the speed of the greens as it is very similar to the course experience.

Beginner lessons: The following programs for kids and adults concentrate on golf fundamentals. You will learn the proper grip, stance and alignment necessary to make the full swing. You will be given drills and exercises to make the proper swing easier and more effective. Each session will include one portion that is dedicated to putting and short game basics. We will also offer some discussion about golf course etiquette. If you have any other questions about golf we will answer them.

Intermediate lessons: This program is for individuals who already play golf and have a basic knowledge of the game or for those who have previously taken our beginner class. The class will again emphasize the fundamentals and stress more individual attention. We will teach you the cause and effect of basic ball flight laws. We will expose you to some of the more important basic rules of golf and answer any questions you have about them. Each lesson will deal with the short game and putting. We will have a discussion about course management and how you can start to lower your scores.

Your instructor will be Andy Froude. Andy was the head instructor at the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy in Vermont before starting a 29 year stint as the Head Golf Professional at the prestigious Charles River Country Club in Newton, MA. Andy retired at the end of the 2004, but still retains the title of Professional Emeritus at C.R.C.C.
